Spread the love...

So I had this weird intuitive self realizing feeling that life is so short(suddenly) and that I don't tell people I love that I love them much often. And hence, I did this social experiment of telling everyone I love that I love them... literally! I just didn't think for a second, just went on my whatsapp and started texting everyone love you messages! I swear I'm not crazy!(my parents didn't have me tested though!) I didn't expect I'd get such mixed reactions from everyone but here is a comprehensive list of it...

1) my mom asks me, "Have you fallen in love with some girl?"
2) college friends asking "daru pi raha hai kya?" (are you drunk?)
3) and saying it's "gay love"
4) some were bold enough to say "love you too" without a hesitation!
5) while others simply acknowledged it

Seriously, I was not high on anything but doing this thing gave me a different kind of high. It is scientifically proved that feeling loved and giving love makes you happy, reduces depression and the feeling of loneliness. It may not increase the years in your life, but it will definitely increase the life in your years! I mean why should we wait for someone to come and love us? Why not start loving instead? What we give comes back to us manifold. That's karma bitch! Don't be like Freddy Mercury singing "Find me somebody to love.." but instead sing like Michael Jackson "I just can't stop loving you.." Okay maybe not Ishq wala love, it can be anything, maa ka pyar wala love, love for your country or just loving your pet! (seriously love is so sterotyped these days)

If you are reading this and I didn't text you, don't feel sad cause I love you too! Also I recommend all of you to do this little experiment too! And then share your experiences with me! After all life is so short and we are all going to die in the end! So why not at least tell people you love that you love them?

Go on then.. spread a little love! Love is all you need. :)

Catching Up... Part 2 (Holidays)

During my last vacation(the very last after finishing my degree studies... the one between my student life and my professional life... the last one I had about 10 months ago!!), I visited Ladakh. The trip brings so many memories of that amazing place in India, the truly heavenly place on earth - Kashmir!

Ladakh has been the most beautiful place I have visited so far. Ladakh is also known as Little Tibet, Land of High Passes and also as Moonland on Earth. What makes this place beautiful is not just the landscape beauty but also the soft spoken and kind people who live here. Ladakh is undoubtedly the cleanest place I have ever seen in India, mainly because of the ban on plastic bags, which I think the rest of India must strictly follow! 70% of the tourists here are foreigners. It's a must visit place for everyone, especially all Indians, to see for themselves how beautiful a part of India is and be proud of being an Indian!

Enough said, now I am just going to let the pictures do the talking for me...

Me standing next to a large Buddhist prayer wheel

These prayer wheels have papers rolled inside them with prayers written on them. It is said that spinning such wheels has the same effect as orally reciting the prayers

Even stayed in a tent for a night!

Colourful bands with the prayer "Om Mani Padme Hum" written on them.

I guess these are enough pictures to prove my point - Ladakh is awesome. Still don't believe me, then visit the place because pictures can't truly capture the beauty of any place as what is visible to our eyes! If you do visit it someday, do share your experience with me! Until then Adios Amigos!

Catching up... Part 1 (days and times of SPCE)

Its been more than a year since I have posted anything on this blog. Well I had always wanted to be a blogger (after being inspired by Ashmita and Preeti), but couldn't quite think of anything sensible to write(read 'lazy'). A lot has happened in this past year. I have traveled to different places (Ladakh, Konkan, Ahmedabad etc), had various experiences, parted with some dear friends and made quite a lot of new friends too.

A little flashback into the past few years...

Last time I posted anything, I was pursuing my degree in Civil Engineering from the prestigious Sardar Patel College of Engineering. Those 4 years in degree college were the best 4 years of my life. Made a lot of crazy friends, partied with them, fell in love(those who know, shut up and those who don't please don't ask), studied some, got high'(if you know what I mean ;)) on life too! Thanks to that studying part I passed with a First Class and now have a job in Tata Housing Development Co. Ltd.(more on that later).

Our entire B.E.Civil class during the last few days of our college. Most of us are wearing the black Tee designed by me.

Most of us have been placed in good companies while some of us are pursuing our masters from US and India.

L-R: Me, Ashmita, Jasmeet, Harshit, Tushar, Sidhant, Kaustubh

This was my group in college, the best of it in our class. Self proclaimed "Chaiwale group" (because we loved to drink chai at Shetty's). We always stayed together, attending boring lectures(no offence to any professors reading this!!), copying assignments, eating dabbas during lectures, occasional visits to HOF and Jugheads, doing bakchodi (utter nonsense).

(Chaiwalas not in this pic: Sarkar, Adil, Ronak)

This was my final year project group (L-R Kaustubh, Ashmita, Me, Apurva & Sarkar), we proudly called ourselves "The Water Chargers!" based on our project of recycling and conserving waste and rain water. We even published an international paper under the mentor ship of our guide Dr.Hansa Jeswani. If you have time do read Our International Paper.

I found the best of friendship in Unnati and Vaidehi. Everybody needs a friend to share their silliest weirdest feelings with, to talk to at 4 am in the night just because you can't sleep, for me these 2 girls fit perfectly into those roles. Even though we may be far away from each other, the love that we share keeps us close and we'll always be that way.

Me with my dear sis Preeti. She is the best sister I've ever had. No, we are not siblings, but we are so similar in many ways, say for e.g. we always speak whatever is on our mind irrespective of what others might think, we aren't scared of anyone and are always ready to face challenges, we're both single and searching soul mates for each other but not much luck in that matter as of now!

Some more pictures with friends...

Other than friends, I had some very cool professors too viz. Bandivdekar ma'am, Jeswani ma'am to name some few. I owe all my knowledge and the job that I have now to all my professors. They have believed in me and always wished for me to excel in life.

There's so much more I can write about of my college days, but then there won't be an end to it, right?

So I am going to stop this blog here right now. Sorry if I have forgotten to mention anyone in this blog. Hope we can all meet together someday. Until then, Adios Amigos.
